Exactly...you have to choose rubber, plastic, and vinyl products carefully around an engine compartment on motorcycles and other vehicles. Fuel vapors and heat are death on some products in short order. If you can find hose, caps, and other "rubber" products that are approved for fuel/emission applications, you can be sure they are made out of compounds that will last much longer.
