I just pick up a 95 KLR 250 with 425miles on it. I was just wondering what kind of oil, everyone uses? and ifIshould check the valves?

I helpwill go a long way. This ismy first bike, soI need a point in the right direction.

i have the exact same bike and i have been using torco t-4m 10w40
make shure after each time you wash it you use compressed air and blow through that little whole on the left side of the cylinder just under the plug to get the water out.

 

Congrats on the bike, they are good machines. You might try using Kawa-Chem SAE 20w-50 I have 8 quarts (in 1 gal jugs) in my garage that I will probably never use since I switched over to Amsoil full synthetic. Too bad it would cost a lot to ship. I didn't look to see where you live, I would gladly let you have it. You're not in Washington State by any chance are you?
