Help needed
Hi all
can anyone help I have just had the head off my 1988 zx600 and cant find any where that tells me where the crankshaft marks should be , I have T/ F/ 14 then T about an inch further round the rotor .I brought it as a non runner so Im going throuh everything , so as compression was low checked rings and reground valves . I can see the cam timing marks but as I said not sure where crank should be .Thanks Mel.

The only way I've seen a pdf posted is if you have a server to serve it via link. It won't post as an image from what I've tried. Bummer cause I have a number of pdfs that would be helpful around here.

non starter
Hi all thanks for you help on timing marks it was spot on (timing i mean) but still have a small problem it still wont start . I brought it as a non runner (the chap SAID is was running but the carbs needed cleaning so he did and then it would`nt start ) gave it a compresion check seemed low (I think that was the tester not the right one) anyway all back together and good compresion , fairly good spark but just wont fire . Stripped carbs again checked diaphams jets etc. will fire but not run if you put hand over carb to suck fuel in, then back fires . Is there something obvious I`ve missed Thanks .

What are your compression numbers? Have you put a couple drops of oil in each cylinder? If not you might want to do that if it has sat for long without running. It will help build compression and seal the rings until you can get it running. How old are the spark plugs? All of what I have just typed is only good info if you know the carbs are properly cleaned and the bike still isn't starting. If you are in doubt about the carbs you may want to clean them again. The pilot jet circuit is what always gives you fits (like it's doing now) if it isn't cleaned properly.
