2006 klx 250 alternative hubs/wheels
Hey everyone, I've got a question I can't seem to get an answer too.. so I recently laced my stock hubs to a pair of excel17in rims.. full super moto now.. I still have my dirt rims and I want to make another set for off road.. hubs from dealer are waaaay too much for me.. can't find used wheels anywhere for the klx.. a good deal on some kx250 wheels came up in my area... do my question now is will these fit/ suggestions to what i could or should do are welcome..

Here is what I have learned with some research.
First the front hub, the KX hubs will not directly bolt up since they have no speedo drive. So I ignored looking them up. They might work if the axle will work and you go to an electronic speedo like a Vapor or don't run a speedo.
The same internal spacer, wheel bearings, circlips, left seal (50-62-7), left collar, speedo drive assy, spokes (except where noted), and disc rotor bolts fit the following hubs making them functionally identical:
The same internal spacer, wheel bearings, circlips, left collar, rotor bolts , but not the left seal or speedo drive (gear style) fits:
Based on the parts in the hub, the only difference has to be in some hub finish or some other non-essential with the exception of the spoke change on the KDX model and another on the KLX250 2006-2007 plus the electronic speedo and seal for 2009-2014.
So if you get any of the complete wheels from the first list you would have a bolt on set up based on the parts that fit up to the hub.
Now the rear hub is identical with the following based on the same part number used:
I believe there are KX hubs that will work, probably spoke size differences, but it would take some trial fitting to see. Hub parts don't reflect interchangability.

The same internal spacer, wheel bearings, circlips, left seal (50-62-7), left collar, speedo drive assy, spokes (except where noted), and disc rotor bolts fit the following hubs making them functionally identical:
- 1986-2006 KDX200 and 220 FRONT HUB spoke size difference
- 1991-1994 KDX250 KDX250 FRONT HUB
- 1993-1996 KLX650R and C FRONT HUB
- 1994-2007 KLX250R, S, and SF FRONT HUB 2006-2007 spoke size difference
- 1997-2007 KLX300R FRONT HUB
The same internal spacer, wheel bearings, circlips, left collar, rotor bolts , but not the left seal or speedo drive (gear style) fits:
- 2009-2014 KLX250S and SF FRONT HUB spoke size same as 2006-2007 KLX250S

What other input? There are the wheels, have at it.
I suppose I should tell you that information was gleaned from the Kawasaki parts schematics on Revzilla, which are the same as those on the Kawasaki parts site. So it's pretty much fact.
