Default problems with vn900

anyone having problems with excessive buffeting or wind turbulance on a 900LT. also I hear a ticking at idle that is irritating at the very least. I have 1500 mi in 1 1/2 mo, so it is preety much broke in. Aside from this , it is one of the best looking and best rides I have had out of 3 bikes I have owned. I am a novice. Also, the speedo and instruments are in a horrible location forcing you to take your eyes off the road too long.

You can't be a novice if it's your 3rd bike. I do agree with you about the vn900, I love the bike but like any bike there is some getting used to and the speedometer was one of them. I am not used to taking my eyes off the road but after riding it for awhile you no longer have to look for it, like I did when I first got it. Not sure about the noise. Wish I could be more help.

I hear the ticking on my 900 also. Some say its nothing to worry about. I haven't took mine in to have it looked at,but will next year.

I have just over 2000 miles on my 900LT and hear the same noise. It's a musical combofrom injectors, relays, pumps, cam chain tension and the occational pebble that gets tossed in the fender. My dealer looked at it and said it was normal engine noise.

Ticking noise is normal as for the buffeting..... until you install lowers keep your knees close to the tank at high speeds as most of the buffeting actually comes from below the shield
