KFX 700
Hello,
New to the forum ( Kawies also ). Sold the 660 Grizz, purchased a KFX 700. Actually, three friends also purchased the same bikes, 2 used 04's, 1 new 05, 1 new 06. I'm told the 06 model is tuned a bit differently from the 04 and 05 models...timing is mored advanced. Anyone know if this is true? Also, whats the best mods? Thanks

Welcome to the Kawi board!
Very little traffic here. It looks like it's just me who's here.
I have KFX700 and know a few things about it.
KFX700 engine has not changed a bit since it was first introduced as a '04 model. It's till got the 49.4 hp motor. The ignition timing is set permanently inside the CDI which has the same P/N on ALL year KFX700 from 04 to 07.
Best Mod is No Mod in my opinion. I would not try to change something people with PhD degreen in engineering have researched for years and designed. But that's just me. However, I would improve things that Kawi might have cut corners to save their money. I recommend you do these.
1). Steering tie-rod is too thin - get fatter aftermarket ones.
2). Tires are too shaky at high speeds - change to different brand when worn out.
3). Engine seems running little too hot - go for a bigger rad.
