Driving mule pro in water!!

Driving mule pro in water made drive belt squeal!!
I was told by a dealer that I should not drive in water deeper than the front axle cap to prevent water getting into the drive belt housing!! Is that for real? If that is true as a hunter, I would not have purchased the Mule Pro fx!!
