I have a 1997 ZXI. It smokes when Im in idle. When I get on the gas it stops. Could this be an oil pump problem which would be fixed by a block off plate? I have tried to adjust the carbs with no results. Any help would be appreciated.

What color smoke is it smokin'??

I'm guessing black, IE fuel??
Blue, oil?

 

these skis pump same amount off oil into carbs at idle as they do at WOT- this is normal.
