Default 750 XI TO 750 SS ENGINE SWAP...IS IT POSSIBLE?

Hi everyone,
I have a 1994 Kawasaki 750 XI that I made the poor choice of letting my younger sister drive out of site on the water on, ran it on the rocks, and now i have a2 foot hole in the hull of it. The engine is in perfect condition, runs great, I just cant get it to float after several patch attempts by boat fiberglass repair specialists. Long story short, my buddy has a 750 SS the he stripped parts off for another 750 SS, and told me that i could have the hull to take out my xi engine and put in the ss hull. I realize there are several factors, such as the tach i have that the ss doesnt, the trim button as well as the trim motor... but i don't care if the trim work or not, since it hasn't worked in years. I strictly use this watercraft to wakeskate behind, and having trim isn't an issue anymore to me.
CAN I SWAP ENGINE AND MOST PARTS FROM THE XI TO THE SS?
