I have a 2004 zx6 rr that i just broke in. now when i get it at about 10,000 rpm it revs out in every gear like if it has a limiter. it only has a mig high mount exhaust that i took off of my 03 zx 636..my 636 never gave me a problem except for that kawi engine tick......any ideas?

 

I'm having the same problem on my 03 636. I've tried changing the spark plugs, buying a new air filter but no matter what I do it won't go past 10K rpm and I get what seems to be a fuel cut. I've also checked all the vacuum lines and I'm at a loss. I'm almost ready to take it to the stealership. I looked inside the tank and it's full of rust so before I take it to the stealership, I'm going to take the tank off, and clean the fuel pump and remove the rust from the tank as best I can. If that doesn't do the trick then I don't know what to do. BTW, do you know where the tank vent is? After cruising for 30 mins or so, my bike starts to 'bog' down and hesitate almost to the point it dies. When I pull over and open the gas tank to relieve the pressure it runs like a champ again.

 

well, from an UBER technical standpoint, the ECU can actually be hacked and reprogrammed, and the values can be modified like it was a power commander. thees been successful hacks on the 12-R ecu (practically the same, as is the 10R and 14 units) and guys are cchanging the rev limits to suit their motor builds.

i'm not too sure what to tell ya on that 10K limit.. could be a few things.. i'd almost hafta see it or hear it or something.. kinda hard to get a feel for whats happening over a computer screen..lol

What have you added or changed on the bike? First impression was a fuel related issue. Clean the fuel filter?
