Winterize: After the fact
My cousin let me store my Ninja EX500 in his garage for the winter, and he promised me he would start it 2-3 times a month and let it run for a bit to keep it in good running order over the winter.
Well, ******** never did, now I have a fully dead battery, and I am sure all my fluids have settled.
So, besides a new battery and an oil change, what should i be doing before I attempt to start it again?
Thanks

Thanks Dragon!
Is this covered in the owners manual, or can you point me somewhere on here that details it? Want to make sure I do it right hehe (I am a new rider as of June last year, still learnin)

How long was it sitting?

Now, how would I go about finding out how to drain the carb bowls?
Hoping to go over this weekend and do it all up and take'r for a spin!
If you look though from the right side of the bike you can see the bowls on the bottom of the carbs. You will need a small allen wrench to open the drains. I would drain the tank, change the oil, and replace the plugs. Also check the coolant I found I had developed a small leak in mine over the winter and was low.
