Default zx6r won't go over 45mph

Ok so my bike has been sitting this winter I've started it and rode it up the steet a few times, but the last time it wouldn't start. I got the jump box out, which is a 300 cca 12v for my car, and jumped it off. it started right up no problem. I let it idle to warm up as I usually do and hopped on to go ride up the street. As I got to 40mph it started sputtering and when I hit 45mph it cuts out like its got a governor on it. I can pull in the clutch and rev to the rev limiter, but no matter what gear I'm in it won't go over 45mph. Its a 2000 zx6r. Anybody got any ideas????

Yeah, I hope you didn't put all 300 Cold Cranking Amps to use on your poor little motorcycle battery.[] By chance, did you treat your gasoline before storing it?

300 itsn't unreasonable to put into a bike - concourse battery has 260cca

I don't think I fried the ecu cause it still runs, and its definitly speed related which makes me think that the speed sensor is still sending a signal to the ecu to tell it how fast I am going before it cuts out. I was just reading something about a timing sensor or something like that on the right side of the bike. It was dropped on the right side which is why it has been parked, i am just waiting on the plastics to be painted to put it back together. Does anyone know more about this timing sensor???

it does sound like a computer issue though - can you disconnect the speed sensor so it doesn't know how fast its going?

ah it was dropped prior to this stuff - that makes more sense.

ah ok

hmm could be an intermitend issue with a sensor due to the drop, could be caused by the jump
