im looking at another kx125 to replace my pos. its a 2000 with a gone topend and bad rings. i have a 94' with a BRAND NEW topend and weisco piston and rings ($560 down the drain ). the only problem is my topend and piston are oversized to 144cc's. the replacement bike has a stock bore. now what confuses me is that i was looking at 440 borekits for my z400 and several sites said "send top and bottom end with order" does the bottom end need to be oversized to? and more importantly can i even put the 94' topend on the 2000? i really nend to know before the weekend cus im leaving to go snowmobiling up in maine, and the guy selling it has another buyer lined up (supposidly)

more clearnce on the opening in the case moast likely overbord than sleeved then honed to size

 

Damn, I had some good advice with some very technicalbig words..whew? good thing you bought that tecate because I can't even spell them anyway.

 

basically, bored out is where they make the cylinder larger and put larger pistons in which effectively makes the displacement more. This is completely a bottom end deal
