I am trying to find out what might remove the film that comes on the new tires. I am not an agressive rider so the last 1/4" or so andthe side wall still has the coating on it. The coating looks dirty and i would like to remove it. any help would be great.

 

fine sand paper will scuff them off easily.

 

let me ride your bike and ill get rid ofthen for you [sm=icon_rock.gif]my commuter tires have some fat *** 1 inch chicken strips on them. [:'(]but the pilot powers are nice and scrubbed in and ready for action. use a pad sander and put the rear up on a stand and sand the edges off enough to get the coating off. dont use any chemicals or cleaners on them, sand paper or scrub them in the old fashioned way by riding it.

 

180 grit paper will work also.

 

kinda off topic but i used a big file to scrub in my street tires on my xr50.
