Default Super Sherpa Kl250 wont start but has spark?

New member here with a tough one for you guys. So, here is my situation. This fall I took my sherpa up to camp and forgot the key. My buddy and I tried to hot wire it (yes, a dumb move, except it briefly started up once for a few seconds but that was it), in that process I broke the original ignition, the battery had died and we tried jump starting the bike off a car battery with no success.
I have now gotten a new ignition and a new CDI unit from kawasaki, both are installed and I'm getting spark to the spark plug but it won't start. I tried starter fluid spray and still nothing. Another possible factor is that I am in Maine and it is cold here (40 today) and it has been sitting since September. I am afraid maybe we blew something when we tried to jump start it? The fuses in the black plastic are all good and I have tested most everything I can think of with everything being in working condition including the starter switch, kick stand switch, the ignition coil and pick up coil.
The bike had been on a 150 mile ride the day before we took it up to camp and it ran like a top.
Any suggestions or ideas on how to troubleshoot this to try to get my beloved sherpa up and running?
Thanks in advance for any help!
