Just curious,
How much load did AutoZone put on your old battery?
Was the voltage before the load test over 12.45 volts.
Did it fix your problem?

I am a store manager for an AutoZone and in my market we usually don’t test motorcycle batteries. Its not that we can’t, usually it’s due to the fact most motorcycle batteries don’t have the cold cranking amps or cranking amps listed on them. What I’m getting to is if you put a battery under to big of a load than what it is rated for, it will fail the test. Also if the battery doesn’t have more than 12.45 volts in it before you test it, you will get an inaccurate reading.

Hopefully they had the correct specs on your specific battery (each battery is different) and made sure it had the proper voltage when they tested it to give you the proper service that you disserve.

Hope your back on you bike tomorrow and everything worked out for you.

It was reading around 12.45V before the load was put on it. He entered in the computer the type of battery it was. I am assuming he was testing the specific type. The machine applied the loads a few times and the battery would drop to about 9V or so. Does this sound right to you?

LOL, going to 9 volts is a large voltage drop. A bad thing.

yeah that sounds right. I'll have to do some digging in to comp at work to see where he may of found the correct CCA or CA. that will be sweet if its in there.

But yeah sounds like toast.

hows the new battery?

The new battery is doing great. Bike starts up first try everytime. Is there any fuel additives I can put in my tank with gas to clean it like you would a car?

I also just got a service manual from ebay so I can change my break fluid now. The only problem is I really want a stand when I work on my bike. Cleaning the chain was a pain in 90 degree weather without a stand to rotate the back tire.

right on Joe00zx
Yeh, stands are pretty handy to have for sure.
I do not use fuel additives, so cannot answer that Q

I don’t see why you can't use any fuel additives from any parts store. Just be mindful on how much you add. You will have to do the math. Most of those additives are mad to be mixed anywhere from 12-25 gal

I put some VP octane booster in my bike the other day. Man she ran like a rapped ape. I also tried some 100 octane it didn’t impress me much, the VP did though.

Maybe I will just hold off on adding anything to my fuel.
