Hey guys - great info on here, so thanks!

I am having a similar issue with my 2000 ZR-7 (26k miles). It has begun to make a knocking/clicking noise when I engage the clutch and roll on the throttle a little bit (doesn't do it so much at idle or if I engage the clutch very slowly). It has also been getting worse and now make the noise generally whenever I am under a moderate amount of power. Does this sound like a loose cam chain?

If so, where should I get one online? I have been searching around and most of the ccts are for kz's or z1's. Appreciate the help!

Also, what is the damage that can occur riding with a loose cam chain? I am staying off the bike until I get a manual cct, but had to ride it about 60 miles while it was making a little bit of noise...
Lastly, if the cam chain broke, any idea of what the damage to the engine would be?

I've PMed you on the whole thing. If I don't have one I can make one. I did the work with TNC making them for the KLX250s and have about 30 of them out there. I am doing them now by request from a Honda VTR 1000 Superhawk/Firestorm forum member. And have a few hundred for other Kawasakis out there.

I hope I can be of assistance.

By the way, I just saw this in another forum:
