OK I am new here so please bear with me.
04 Ninga 636 making a racket at the gear change, after examination I found with the wheel on the ground i could move the chain back and forth around 4 inches with the sprocket turning, on the hub , not driving the wheel.
could this be dampers worn, that's about all I could think of when I looked at the breakdown in the manual.
any help would be greatly appreciated

First thing to check is the Cush Drive Rubbers in the Sprocket Hub (Dampers) 4" of play would suggest they are completely destroyed.
