Default oil leak?

i just bought a 1998 ninja zx7r wiht only 12 k miles and very clean. i have no reason to believe otherwise. when i brought it home tonight, i noticed two oil leaks on my truck bed from the bike. i have not inspected it closely but am a little woried about it. could it be a real leak and if so how bad and what could be the worst case scenarios? any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Lets not think on worst "case" scenarios. Wipe off all areas of the engine, including around the CS area. Then tell us where the oil is coming from.

edit: My typing is bad sometimes lol

Yeah, it could be something simple like a loose filter. No reason to freak out. Yet.

thanks for the fast reply, i had the chance to inspect it a bit further and found that the oil level was past the normal levels and almost past the top! and the oil leak was considerably smaller than before. so tomorrow i will change the oil and take the plastics off to see if there is a leak and from where. what oil do you recommend as far as synthetic non-synthetic semi.......... but thanks again for the responses. i will tell you what i find. thanks again

why change the oil if you are suspecting an oil leak?
Drain some of the oil yes, but do not change out right away.
