not running right
Ok so i got the parts in for the petcock and it appears to be working right. However I'm still having problems running. The choke works now and it starts up, but has trouble staying idle. Of course i adjusted the idle, but it will jump from 2-4000rpm. When it is at idle and I give it gas there is a delay, which sometimes kill the engine. I did get her up to 55 in third gear and when I came off the gas it died. I only ran her for 12-15 minutes, is this long enough for a warm up period? I'm thinking of heading back into the carb for a better cleaning. I wondering if the needles are sitting correctly. I went in there before, and the floats look in good shape. I'm just curious where else you guys might think to look for this problem.
The bike I'm refering to is a 94 ninja 250

Float heights and synchronization was the culprit to me on something similar. But check all of your lines for cracks and make sure they are good while you are at it.
Could be that you havn't reset the cables if they shut off, or there is a delay.. there is a possability that the carbs still are not letting enough or too much air/fual mixture through. as long as you havn't changed the mixture screw then it should be a case of cleaning the carbs again (and add an inline filter while your at it, it stops crap getting into the crbs)
If you need some more help on carbs check http://www.dogdragons.com/dogdragons...rbs/carbs.html
It might help.

what is the condition of the air filter?
the bike has to have restriction of intake air or the mix will be all off, if the air filter has been removed it wont run for nothing, unless the carbs are rejetted to match the new air intake volume
my four wheel went to running like crude, had finally pulled the air filter, it was crumbliing into pieces, got new filter all is good now
or if you have removed and worked on the carbs, they need to be reset for each to have the same vacumm draw, if one is different than the other it wone run right at all, mis balanced between cylinders
