Noob oil question

Default Noob oil question

Hello guys! I just bought a 95 ninja for my first bike. I'd like to change the oil but i dont have a service manual and dont know how much oil to use. Also where should it be in the sight window

Stop buy the dealership and order an owners manual. You can get one for about twelve bucks.

Welcome,

oil sight glass on lower right side of engine

oil level should be in the middle when warm

Put in 2 quarts when changing oil and not replacing filter, you should at least see some oil in the glass, if not add 1/4 quart until you do. Warm up the bike and turn off wait 5 mins and check oil. Add as necessary.

Put in 3 quarts if you are replacing the filter and follow the same instructions.
