Default Ninja stalling

Hi all, I'm having a lil issue with my 07 ninja 250. Bought it in November and had some problems with stalling.. Bike seemed to be faltering and stalling at stops. I cleaned the carb and got new gas and after that it worked fine until this past week, stalling again and actin like its low on gas, was running better in reserve but not 100% .. Still seems to be a decent amount if gas in tank and I checked the petcock and "on" and "reserve" seem to flow fine. Any ideas?
I'm a new rider and also want to learn how to fix everything myself
Thanks- alyssa

Welcome to KF and congrats with the ride. I too have an '07 EX 250

I soak my carbs when I clean them. Also set the proper float heights. Make sure to check your vent tube from the tank of being pinched. Always check the carb synch when re-installing a carb rack.

Have you gotten your service manual yet for this ride?

Do you think it might be the fuel filter causing this ? My bike has a fuel filter in the tank and the previous owner had put one between the carbs and the tank. The tube he was using was falling apart so particles got stuck in the filter and the bike was having a hard time getting gas. Just suggesting a check to put your mind at ease.

As Dragone suggested see if the pipe isn't bent in anyway, I had that issue when I got my bike. No I just replaced it with a shorter, better quality tube and got rid of the second filter. The one in the tank is good enough for me.

Thanks, I drained the carbs again, got fresh gas and cleaned the fuel filter in the tank and it seems to be fine now, although I've left it in reserve. Didn't check for a fuel filter between the carbs but I'll look into that. Thanks!

(Sometimes it can turn out to be a marginal clutch adjustment...on cable-equipped bikes.) +1^ on the in-line fuel filter. The petcock filter doesn't always catch everything.
Glad to hear you're back on the road!!
Welcome to KF.
