I have a 2015 z800 and looking for a properly way to change the front fork oil.
I look up on the internet and find the service manual online. But the problem is on page 481
it said 405ml, and another page 496 it said 450 :frown:

In my experience, it's not necessarily the volume that goes in the fork, but instead the level of the oil in the fork. See if you can find a fork oil level specification.

 

Thank you guys, i decided to let the local dealer to do the hard job for me.
But as i said before, he's very young and not very good ( i think), and after change fork oil ,( i use liqui 10W because that's the only thing my local have)
And now the front fork is quite stiff even he adjusted it for me, i can feel it when go through pothole. Before changed its smooth as silk.
Why is that? did he forget to add oil to one of my fork or something like that?

I'm no expert on this, so only a suggestion that 1) 10W may be to heavy for this application and 2) the oil level may be too high or low. I think 'stiffness' can be attributed to heavier fork oil as it doesn't flow through the valve orifices as easily and may also be due to too much oil. Also, I'm curious what adjustments he made. Your fork may have compression and/or rebound adjustments available for you to manipulate. These are typically screw-type that have a number of 'clicks' from 0 to 15, for example.

1) I think you're true, but maybe i must live with it because this is only thing availble here.
2) But do u think the level too high or too low to cause stiffness. Because if it's too high, i can try take some out myself, but if its too low , ill have to bring it to my local dealer(30km city traffic). And how can i know if he forgot to put oil in my fork or not , does no oil cause stiffness too?
He did ajust something with the screw nail on top of the fork which is a mystery to me, ill check the number tomorrow
Do u think its safe to keep the bike that way? If it is, i prefer keep it because bring it to the dealer and waiting for it to be fixed is quite annoying.

The screw on top may be one of the clicker adjusters for damping or rebound.
