Default Need help with shift star kit install

Bike: 05 ZX6RR
Issue: Factory Pro shift star kit install

I installed the above part and cannot get the bike to shift out of neutral when shifting up. So the star is only moving to 1st and Neutral. I have not put any oil in the bike as I was making sure everything was working ok before I closed it all up. Any ideas as to why it wont shift into the higher gears?

This was in Factory Pros customer reviews.

How do you know that a transmission is shifting quicker and more reliably?

  • You can feel it when riding.
    • Even when hand shifting on the bench, it's easier to get out of gear and "snicks" into gear, rather than "clunks" into gear (yes, most Kaws won't shift into 2nd unless the output shaft is spinning :-)
kinda goes with what we were talking about earlier. good luck

even with the bike in gear the back wheel will not roll. Then I tried to pull in the clutch and it wouldnt dis-engage and let it roll? I have no clue what is going on still

I watched their video on the action of that star even. Granted, it was not hooked up to the CS/chain but it was smooth acting.

dunno man, but since the cover is off still, I would be back tracking, removing the star and seeing if you get your clutch/shifting back

I am waiting from a response to a few people on another forum that may be able to help.
