I wanna say top end... Rocker arm, push rod, valve yelling (that sound can't be called chatter). I can't say because I'm not in front of it.What kind/year of bike do you have, and how many miles do you have on it? Also did this just start happening, or has it been getting louder, and louder?

Its an 89 ninja 600r.
We rebuilt it two years ago.It doesnt even have 3000 miles yet.I just watched the video. Its not that loud in person. The bike was cold and I had the camera almost on the head.
Do you know what style adjustments for the valves? One person told me shim under bucket then somebody else said it had the screw and lock style.Im lost.
Also as far as what a few people told me some said valve and some said lifters.
does this bike even have lifters?Im guessing if it does it has the screw/lock nut style for the valve adjustment.

Thanks

It sounds exactly like my '86 1000 did,the cams had worn the pads off the rocker arms and then the lobes themselves. I had ot replace the cams and rocker arms.
That is assuming yours still has rocker arms, Kawasaki change them quite a bit in 88 so it is hard to tell.

According to the microfiche on kawasakipartshouse.com, yours still has rocker arms so I would bet that is your problem.
Part 12016 in this diagram.

When is the last time you checked the valve clearances?
Maybe you should try installing a new cam chain tensioner, due to the age I bet your is worn out. New tensioner cost about 70 bucks.
