hard to start. fuel i think. help. need sugestions. just picked it up. starts very hard. i know its a 500 but still a 2stroke. and i'm not a small guy. compresion is good. when started runs like a bitch that just cheated on her husband. fast. any sugestions. i'm getting a good spark... its an 86 that's bee sitting in a garauge for 13 years. great conndition. just this stupid starting process. ha iguess if it don't start its not i great shape. hehehe.

What do you mean "hard to start?" (I've got a Husky 390sitting in the garage.) Ifyou mean it's not firing on the 2nd or 3rd kick, that's a choke problem. If you mean it doesn't fire at all(and you've checked the plug for spark) that's another problem. Need more details.

Big bore 2 strokes are kinda lacking in the choke area on initial start. I flood mine by tipping it until you see fuel running out the overflow, get it upright, find the highest compression stroke of the kicker, then kick. 1 time kick starts. Of course you still use the choke during this process.

how about bending the tabs inside the float bowl. you know raise the hight of the fuel before it shut off or over flows.

I only had to flood the carb when it was cold. From then on, had no issues with it.
