Just bought a 1976 KE100 from some guy's barn. I rode her around for a while and noticed among all of the other issues, I cant drop it down into first. I haven't checked the clutch cable adjustment yet as I wanted to make sure Im not missing anything. Thanks!

 

Adjustment and oil brand/quality. Just mention that because bent components can occur because of it. congrats on the new ride

 

If you haven't already, check to make sure you don't have the KE100 with the N-1-2-3-4-5 shift pattern, neutral is at the bottom, not in between first and second. Kawasaki had a number of bikes running that pattern, including the H1 500 if I remember right. You are tapping down all the way to neutral. A lot of ATVs used that pattern too.

From a bit of research I understand the N-1-2-3-4-5 shift pattern was used until 1977, going to the 1-N-2-3-4-5 pattern in 1978.
