ok so heres the deal my best friend has a 2006 zzr 600 i have a 97 zx7r and his bike destroys mine. granted his is a lot newer and he is about 80 -90 pounds lighter than me however when we switch bikes same senario the 600 smokes my 7r. It also feels as though some how my bike has more to give. The other problem is i bought it used what I do Know thatis done performance wise...K and N air filter Sudco slipon <i cant tell if the header is sstock or not it is a 4 2 1 exhaust setup> and thats about it. He just put on a two brothers 10 inch slip on it sounds mean and now i cant touch him, Also I have no idea about the jets , if they are factory or what...I am getting to that asap I need to get my service manual. Basically what I want to knowe is why would my 7r be getting killed by a 600 any advice would be great also if anyone knows of some really good performance moves I could do that would be great...Apologize for the novel but i wanted to get it all out in one shot. thanx

 

If all those add-ons were put on your bike without rejetting, that might explain some of your performance issues.

 

+1 mark, not trying to be a loser but he might be a better rider, switch bikes and see if he still smokes you if he doesnt follow marks advice,

Yeah we did switch same scenario... no worrys mmi ...and the only thing the zzr has is a two brothers slip on but the bike was still smokin mine fully stock. And believe me i really want to just blame it on rider fault but like i said it feels like something is not right...i am getting to the jets asap any suggestions as to an optimal setup for the 97 7r i have seen everywherethat muzzy full system is the way to go. and lastly i am doing all the work my self now due to an asshle mechanic that screwed me over. but yeah any info would be great

haha yeah, for that year the muzzy full gave best numbers on the Dyno,if you go to dynojets website they should work you through step by step on which jet kits, and when you do buy them they are great instructions, and and you even get some dope stickers,Im not sure what your mechanic leval is but, its nothing if you have any question, KF will help you out , good luck brother
