Okay here it is, I am not understanding the measurement increments on my feeler gauge, the first picture is the measurements I need out of the service manual showing inches and millimeters, Correct?

The second is my feeler gauge, it dose not seem to have the right increments or dose it?

Is the top number on the gauge inches and the bottom millimeters? Thanks and feel free to explain this as if I were a 5 year old

 

You are correct Notstock. the .006 top numbers on the feelers are the decimals, the lower is the mm's. So a .043 thousands reading would require a combination of feeler gauges to get to that number. Like using a .020, .013, and a .010 combined to get to the .043 size that you wanted. This make sense? So the cold clearance of .004 -.007, You would need to have a set of feelers to play in that range. Which it appears that you have. I prefer the bronse feelers for head work though.

Thanks you guys, I finally got it seemed stupid but I think I was just getting frazzeled. To much tech overload

Hell to get at the middel intake valve I had to cut the feelers down
