hey guys, when i flip on the low beam on my kz550 the light is really dim. but when i flip the high beams on it looks about right. i need to get this fixed soon because i need to get it in for safty inspection.

 

Does anyone know anything about this?

 

Ok I've been messing around with the headlight on my kz550 and still the low beams are really dim. My high beams seem to look alright and are bright enough for now but those low beams are still really dim and I don't got any clue on what to even look for next. Am I not getting enough power to it?

 

have u tried a new bulb?

 

hahaha, may as well check the voltage at the plug when you install the new bulb.

 

yeah i went and got a new bulb and its still doing the same thing.

 

What voltage were you getting on the oem plug?

 

How can you check the voltage on something like that, is there a tool/guage of some sort, if so can you show picture/link... thanks.

you need a volt meter.

Pull the light bulb out. There should be three terminals, 1 for regular beam, 1 for high beam, and the middle one should be ground. Measure from ground to the other 2 terminals I think the voltagesshouldbe the same.
