I have to Kawi's 1996 and 1999 ATV 4x4. The 1996 has fuel getting in the crack case and also leaking out of the carb overflow at the bottom of the bowl. The 1999 just started with gas getting in crank case. I am not sure what could be causing it.
On the 1996 I cleaned the carb abd needle value and adjusted the float, but it still leaks. The is no seat int he needle value area for the bowl so I am not usre how it is fixed if I replace just the needle value. I do notice a diafram on top of both carbs (both are very much a like). any ideas?

 

If the bowl is overflowing it pretty much has to be the floats/needles. I'd suggest checking them again, its easy to make an error or for some debris to get in during the rebuild. as for gas in the crank case, I'm not sure but possibly the cylinder is flooding out and the gas is getting past the rings. After you get the bowls fixed try a compression check and some fresh oil and see if you still have problems.

I ordered two new needle values from the Kawi dealer; he is telling me there should be a coating on them to help seal when in place. Over time he tells me the ethanol destroys the coating.

Welcome to the forums man, get that oil changed ASAP! Last thing you want is the gas inside there igniting.

 

already drained the gas tank and crank case. It's taken forever for them to send the parts. Thanks for the heads up.
