Foot shift lever

Just got this KLX and I can't get the foot shift lever off. I've loosened the bottom bolt and I can wiggle it off just partway and that's it - What am I doing wrong?

You might still have to wiggle it some to get it off after you remove the bolt.

Yes, remove the bolt, then wiggle the lever off of the rod.
