Dies for no reason
I've got an 87 ninja 750. I can start it up and it runs GREAT, until you ride it for like a mile and the temp rises a bit and it dies. And it kinda seems like I can keep it running if I keep giving it more gas, but its inevitable that it will die. Its not over heating, and I know its not the carbs because they were just done. Is there a sensor somewhere that would make the bike shut down or some sort of ignition advance problem maybe. I"m lost when it comes to bike problems so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

quik who did your carbs? was it a shop? sounds like they still need to be adjusted. If it was a shop, take it back and tell them what its doing, if not maybe you might want to look for a shop that can make the proper adjustments to them.
I did the carbs with someone that has been doing it for like 25 years. And it runs perfect so I don't really think thats its the carbs. But if it is then why would the temp of the engine change the carbs. When it dies it still has spark. but it won't start until it cools off. The carbs were done all the fuel lines were replaced as well as the filter. And the inside of the tank was also sealed perfesionally. Do you have any other ideas, I don't really have the moeny to bring it to a shop
Thanks

It wont stay running with the choke. some one told me that it probably is not heat related because it has spark, but that its running until the bowls empty out. Then when it sits it starts again because it has more fuel or something. So my thought was that maybe it is the petcock malfuntioning. Is there a way to test it or to put on a manual on/off one. Or are there any other reasons for the bowls to not be filing up quick enough to keep the bike running? Thanks
