can i put a 91 kx250 jug, piston, rings. on a 88 kx 250?

Default can i put a 91 kx250 jug, piston, rings. on a 88 kx 250?

help!!! i have no $$ and this.. i got 91 jug it bolts on and everything matches...water ports ect..pipe. both bikes share the same bore and stroke..can i order the piston kit for the 91 jug put in onto the 88?
i noticed wiseco.com have diffrent piston part numbers..

everything looks the same even on the inside...help!! i want to ride..im not racing just riding around the house..thanks

Usually 3 years is max on the same cylinder for the early 90's. Really not sure, maybe check with the local bike shop and run some numbers. I know back in the day McGrath was running an older jug on his 250 Honda.

Keep us posted on what you find out, the worst that can happen would be cracking a chunk off the top of the piston, scoring the cylinder and maybe messing up the crank. So make sure if you do switch you could just toast the whole engine, worst case senario.

I would suggest that you mic the piston and bore to be sure they are the same. Also weigh the pistons to be sure they are the same weight. If they weigh differently, it will vibrate your motor to pieces.
