I took a look at the boots I have which is for a 2000' & 2001' ZX9R and the part numbers are different. Mine is 16065-1365 and your's are 16065-1317 so it looks to be different. Your's are list at Ron Ayer's for $23.xx per boot and mine are around $16.00

Sorry. I thought maybe they would have been the same.

ok got the boots in today and got them on. it does rev better and I hit 140 going to the store so It definatly got its power back. now it still doesn't sound the same. I know I have a small exhaust leak but I don't think thats causing it. I'm not getting alot of pops when I decell. I did t the floatbowl mod which had got rid of it before the wreck. I think now its even worse than before. Is there anything internally in the motor that could of been messed up from the wreck.

 

Trust me, an exhaust leak can make a huge difference in how your bike runs. I had a bad collector gasket on my 750 when I bought it, after replacing That little gasket, I couldn't believe how much smoother it ran.

 

I use this from carb tun to sync my carbs, a bit pricey but it makes it a snap, also have the extended tubes so it is even easier to connect.

I've heard the carbtune brand makes about the best carb synchronizer you can get. I don't know if any of you guys know this, but mercury carb synchronizers will pretty much become obsolete after 2006 because of new federal regulations making mercury a "controlled substance". So go and buy one ASAP if you don't already have one.

 

i ended up just puttin on a set of halagon driving lights, its not legal but the cops are happy, i'm bidding on a headlight on ebay right now. currently at 102.50. the exhaust leak is in 2 places, at each end of the midpipe. it leaks connecting to the header, and to the pipe.
