Default 94 Ninja EX250F Oil level indicator

Just purchased my first bike, a 1994 Ninja EX250F with 19k miles.... The oil level indicator on the side of the bike seems to be reading really low.. does anyone know about how high up the site glass should the oil level read? Also, at idle the engine seems to have a knock in the bottom end but clears up when the clutch is applied....is that normal? Any help is appreciated.

on the oil question, make sure the ride is on the center stand
Then check the oil level. Mid point is the standard level on all the rides that I know of in the sight glass.

Thanks for the help guys, and thanks for the welcome!

Love the bike, it responds well, just enuff throttle to keep me outta trouble but definitely not lacking in the 'get up and go' department. Looking for a manual, anyone know a reliable source to order one from?
Thanks

hmm, I do not have a manual yet on that ride. Ebay is possible before you order from the kawasaki distribution site.
