i have an 86 600 ninja and i bought it not running i got it runnning after some tinkering but it has no power when you rev it up it sounds like its flooding the plugs are black and it backfiresout the right exhaust every once in awhile the idiot i got it from monkeyed the carbs so does anyone know where the needle clips should be and how many turns the idle mixture screws should be turned out? the ones on the bottoms of the carbs i need help getting ready to slap the for sale sign on her and other ideas what it can be would help too

 

Don't know for sure about an 86. But I think a decent starting point is on the needles, 4th notch from the top and the air mixture screws about 2 or 2 1/2 turns out. That should lean it out enough to run.

 

That is generally close to Stock in most rides it seems. Just clean your carbs then use your manual for the basic setup. Elevation means some changes above the manual basics.
