Default 8,335 miles, no problems...and suddenly a check engine light...HELP!!!

do bikes have sensors or anything? becasue, there is no loss of power, or missing or rough idling...its acting perfectly normal, ...but the engine light is on....i was told it could be anything down to a loose battery cable....any thoughs?

what year and kind of bike? The new ones do have sensors... O2, tps, iac, etc.... You are right, something as simple as a dirty connection can cause the light to come on. If it's a newer one, it's gonna take a computer to diagnose your computer..

and make sure you're not low on rad fluid, and battery is holding a full charge, and alternator is putting out within specs, and you don't have a blown bulb somewhere.... JMO tho!!

I'd highly recommend riding it as little as possible untill you find out whats causing it though..could be something small, could be something big
