Default 78 gs1000 leaking fuel

ok guys i have a whopper here that is stumping me. i have a friend who im helping with a bike he picked up.

it is leaking fuel from the overflow on the tank (not from the carbs) we put gas in and it just pours out, we have gone through the haynes manual and searched everywhere online i really need some help on this one.

OK; I'll ask the dumb question: What overflow on the tank are you talking about?

lol damn didnt know i shouldent suck that one.

ok so it is the vent/overflow comming out the bottom of the tank
