2009 Er-6n 200 miles. Change the oil?
Hey all,
I am new to riding as well as this forum and have a question about my bike.
My cousing just gave me a 2009 ER-6n that has a little over 200 miles on it.
My cousin says he started it up and rode around the neighborhood once a week.
I know you don't usually change the oil until you hit 500 miles but was wondering if I should change the oil on this bike because it is already a few years old.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Agree^. Welcome Big. When bikes sit (or cars, trucks, etc.) the oil will absorb condensation, oxidize, and can even begin to partially separate. Granted, riding the bike every weekend will help keep the oil where it needs to be and also "burn off" some of the moisture, but doing the math.....a 2009 bike with 200 miles on it.......er.....very small neighborhood?
Yes, change the oil and the filter. (But please don't ask us which brand is best!)
Glad to have you with us. Gear up; stay safe.
