2006 kx250f not startin

my kx250f has a fresh rebuild yet when i went to start it, it acted like it was starving for gas i cleaned the carb. now all it does is back fire. any ideas what t could be?

Make sure that all rubber boot and hose connections are tight. Maybe you did not get the carb installed or reassembled correctly?
