2003 ZRX1200 No Start No Lights...Nothing
Hello All, could use a little advice. I have a 2003 ZRX1200 that I have not ridden in about a month and a half. When I went to start it today it barely cranked for about 1 second then was dead. I removed the battery and put it on a slow charge for a couple of hours. I reinstalled the battery and I have no lights or crank with key turned on. Battery shows a voltage of about 13v. I tested the voltage across the starter relay and it is .5v with the key on and 12.8v with the key off. Anyone have any idea what is going on? I took the battery back out and will charge overnight but I should at least have lights with a 13v battery I would think. Also, I checked all of the fuses in the junction box as well as the starter relay and have continuity across all of them. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Dragon...ignition switch (key) moves freely, the other end of the ground wire seems to be buried under the airbox and is not easily accesible. I may try to run and alternate ground to see if it lights up. Thanks for your help, I'm hoping I didn't smoke the starter relay but if I did, wouldn't I still have lights or does the current pass through the starter relay first before it passes through the headlight relay? I have no lights at all, no dash lights, nothing.

Update 9/20/11
Update...Even though the battery was showing a voltage over 13 volts it failed a load test miserably. Under a load, the test needle immediately went to "BAD" and when the load was released the needle went back to 13 volts quickly, indicating a bad or defective cell. I bought a new battery, slow charged it, installed it and the bike lit up like a Christmas tree. I was surprised that the old battery showing 13 volts would not at least light up the dash lights, but it did not. Thanks Kawasaki Forums.
