2000 ZX9R Carb sync???
I'm making an attempt to sync the carbs on my 00 zx9r. I have done this twice on this bike before, no problems, until today. The mods to the bike are a full D&D stainless 4-2-1 exhaust, stage 1 dynojet kit, Needles set 3 from the top, and a k&n air filter. The kit suggested that I use the 150 jets, so I did. I have an issue with the bike running rich, it would fall flaton it's face when throttle is applied under 3000. Spark plugs were fuel fouled. I swapped thejets forthe 155's, which has helped slightly. The jets I removed were 170 on 1&4, 165 on 2&3. The idle isn't smooth enough to actually sync the carbs... It will run smooth for a minute, then dip down to about 950-1000, then back to 1100, with a choppy sort of idle. The idle had never been great to begin with, even after the 1st two carb sync's. But it got alot worse when the exhaust was installed. This kind of rambled on, any help is going to be greatly appreciated!
Ok, I've heard good things about a shop here in town, so I paid them a visit. They charge $150 for a dyno tune, that includes 2 hours of time, which they claim to be able to get most bikes running properly in! Other than the obvious having the fuel in it that I normally use, and making a short list of my current issues with how my bike runs, can anyone think of anything else I should let the shop know beforehand? I'm also taking them the rest of my jet kit, in case they need to swap anything to make it run right. Thanks!!!
Yea take your other parts from the jet kit. with them they should be able to tune the bike to where it needs to be and have it running to it best. hope that works out for you.
