Default 2 questions

hey guys,

I'm new to the site and very new to motorcycles in general. I've had dirtbikes for a long time but this is all new to me. Anyway, i just bought a 95 zx6 (the VIN number has zx4 in it though...is there a zx4? is mine a zx4?) and i just want to make it look a little more up to date with a fairings kit. basically will a new model fairings kit fit a 95? and what years are bolt on? i dont mind doing a little body work to make it fit. and my second question is as follows: When i start the bike up and hit the throttle it lags a little bit before revving up. in my RC cars this usually means the engine is running either too rich or too lean. could this be the case here? i will attach pictures below of my bike and what id like to have it look like. any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated. thanks again

Welcome to KF

Not sure on the US and the ZX4 id vin on your ZX6

The fairings- yes, trial and error for the most part. I have always liked to hit up airtech Motorcycle fairings, bodywork, fairing, seat, lower, fender, race tail, race body, rear hugger, fuel tank, air box, custom fairing and cafe racer;. and look at the different styles and ask them any questions concerning their products.

Good luck on the project.

Has the bike been sitting? If so might try some sea foam in your gas. Other than that if there are after market exhaust or air filters would need to be rejetted that could be your throttle problem.

Also you say you start up and try to go. Should let the engine warm up before letting loose I've heard this can potentially cause damage and has the same bogging effect your talking about. Give more detail on it.

Such as.
Boggs only under -rpm
Clears up after -rpm
Does it do it every time under or close to those Rpms
