Default 1994 ZX-11 OPS Issues

Hey all. As this is my first post, I have a 1994 ZX-11. It is my first bike and I am really enjoying it so far (besides putting more work into it than riding it lol).

Basically, when I flip the ignition (not turning the motor), my oil light does not come on. This is a little bothersome as I would like to know if I have low pressure at one point or another while riding.

Here's my problem: I have the switch off the bike. It is pretty clean, so "cleaning rust off of it" is not really the issue here. Here are some issues:

1A.) I am going to assume the OPS is bad...
1B.) Checked the bulb, and the bulb is good
1.) If I ground the lead wire, should the light come on? If not, does this mean the lead wire is bad?
2.) If the wire and switch are bad, where the hell does the wire go to? (See sketch). It goes into this cluster-f of wires and then where? It is blue/red by the switch, but then on the other side of the bike, I think the OPS wire is brown/green
3.) If I use a DMM to test what parts are actually getting power, where should I test it?
4.) There is a red "joint" where the wire snaps in beneath the foot peg. If I buy a new lead wire, is this the replacement?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to avoid paying a shop $100 to snap in a wire if that is all it takes.

Welcome to KF. I am not that familiar with the zx11. So I will have to look thru my manual for the wires.

edit: Looks like bl/r at the sensor as well

again, blue/red wire for the oil pressure switch. I did notice that the harness for that switch runs from the right side of the bike over to the sender. Under the seat area. Possible crimped/broken wire?

the light may be good, but did you check that the light is connected to the terminals properly? Or it isn't as simple as maybe the one of the wires from behind the instrument panel are broken?
