I've got a bike that sounds so cool........But i can't here the XXXXthing because of the vibration in its silly look like harley gas tank. I've taken it off and checked every thing possible for the vibs. I touch it with both knees and it quits. And i can't ride like that. So thats not a option. Has any other Vulcan rider has this problem? And another question is A oil issue, Seems good milliage on fuel but it does like its oil, Lots of oil! doesn't leek or drip or SMOKE! But i do ride it like a mad dog it is. It has 17000 miles and not a chip or spot of dirt anywhere on the bike. I clean it more than i do myself. Really would like to know where the oil is going if anyone has the answer to it please feel free to enlighten me. And i know what you'll say about the harley look gas tank. Should of bought a harley----Then i'd have more to worry about than a rattley vibration.

I can't help you much on your prob...

But, you are saying that if you touch the tank with your knees, the vibs go away right?

Try some electrical tape on the front tank grommets...make the tape thick, so when you slide the tank back on, it is diffucult..See if that takes care of vibe probs maybe? GL man....

 

Oh, and the response to the oil....I bet you are burning it. The 1500's had a guide prob on valves...It will not do it without a load on her. So to check it, have a buddy drive the bike. You get behind and watch those pipes. Now if it smokes only on start up, the seals are gone, if it smokes on throttle, the guides are slacked.

I know you are going to say you have never seen it smoke. And you won't while sitting on the bike. It will not be a lot, but I bet there will be a light tint of blue puff out of her.

I had an old bike with same prob. The bike was not worth it to me to fix, so I put in some 4 cyl Engine Restore. And it fixed her. And yes, I told the person I sold it too of the guide probs.

Maybe not what it is, but an easy enough way to check....GL man
