i just purchased a 1985 zl 900 eliminator..when pulling the carbs last nite i broke one of the idle screw mixture holder off one of the carbs ..now i am trying desperately to find a relacement carb body ..there are none on ebay ..i read somewhere that i could use 1985-87 600 ninja carbs and just swap the jets ,is this true ?any help will be appreciated ...rick

 

Hello wicked, That's a tuff one. Can't do much to help ya, but I bet someone here can. I know www.bikebandit.com can get quite a few factory replacement parts. Maybe more than you want to spend???? I know some wrecking yards have national hotlines that can look all across the country for you. Not sure about the ninja carbs fitting. Good luck....

These guys say they can repair any carb, no matter what the prob. I have never used them before, might be worth a try if price is right.

 

I have an 85 zl900 also. I have been told that carbs from a Concours are the same. Was told this by a very experienced Kaw mechanic. Wish you luck.

 

Was this the screw or was the carb body messed up?
