Default 1976 KE125 Stalling Out

Hey all, I have a 1976 KE125 i'm trying to get running again with my friend and I just have no idea why it is stalling at low rpm. It won't quite kick start, but will bump start almost every time. however, if you don't give it gas as soon as it gets going it dies. I thought it was a problem with not getting enough fuel, but it seems like it might be getting air in somewhere. It runs great at 3,000 RPM's and up, but struggles or dies at anything lower and will stall as soon as i pull in the clutch to shift. Shifts fine and rides fine, no back firing or sputtering, but if you let it get below 2,000 it'll shut off. Carb has been cleaned, air filter cleaned, new fuel, fuel lines checked. I'm not good at describing problems so if any more info is needed please ask, any knowledge please share!

Almost sounds like your pilot jet or orifice's are not clean. Pilot power is good up to maybe 1/8th throttle response. If you run the choke up to that point, what does the ride do?

Well, the wise guy who owned it before me thought it would be a good idea to cut the choke cable, so it can't be choked at all. and alright, I'm going to pull the carb apart and clean it again.
