i have a 1974 g5 im restoring can any one tell me how to seat the cluth gear flush.it does not want to go in all the way sticks out about 1/4 inch,any ideas thanks

 

hmm, you may need to back track some and see if the gears are not meshing correctly, or similar. Was trying to look through my KE 250 manual quickly for similarities but right now, back track your assembly process. Welcome to KF and keep us informed on the ride.

edit: Is this the idle gear with the dogged side facing out?
