So I have a 06 636 that gets stuck in 2nd gear anytime I cruise for over 10 minutes. I can only shift between second and neutral. It only happens when the oil temp gets warm though, when the bike cools down I can shift as if nothing happened. I read that it might be the shift drum but I have no idea for sure. Any insight?

 

I am not really sure, but my first thought was the detent arm and spring. Missed shifts have been an issue before on our rides, but I have not dealt with your issue at the moment.
